Force Majeure Cancellation Policy

This policy outlines how cancellations are managed when unforeseen events beyond your control occur after booking, making the stay impossible or illegal.

When this policy permits cancellation, it overrides our standard cancellation policy. Guests affected by an event covered by this policy may cancel their booking. They can choose between a refund of the amount paid, minus a 10% administrative fee, or a credit of equal value towards a future stay.

 

Covered Situations:

• Changes or restrictions in government travel requirements.

• Local or national emergencies, epidemics, pandemics, and public health emergencies declared by authorities.

• Acts of war and other conflicts.

• Natural disasters (excluding common weather conditions, such as power outages under 24 hours, snowstorms, or floods).

Non-Covered Situations:

Any situation not listed above is not covered. Examples of non-covered situations include:

• Unexpected illness, condition, or injury.

• Legal obligations such as jury duty or court appearances.

• Travel advisories or government recommendations (that do not prohibit travel).

• Cancellation or rescheduling of an event for which the booking was made.

• Transportation disruptions not related to a covered event, such as road closures and cancellations of flights, trains, buses, and ferries.

If you cancel a reservation for any of these reasons, the refund amount will be determined by the cancellation terms applicable to the booking.

COVID-19 Force Majeure Cancellation Policy

The standard cancellation policy applies, and the reservation is not covered by the Force Majeure Policy. This policy is designed to protect guests from unforeseen events that occur after booking. Since COVID-19 is now classified as a global pandemic by the World Health Organization, the consequences of COVID-19 are no longer considered unforeseen or unexpected, and therefore the force majeure policy no longer applies to this situation.
